Visit WebsiteWhile much of my portfolio today focuses on climate, clean energy and environmental justice on state, national and global scales, I live in San Francisco and have called the Bay Area home for nearly 30 years. I work with one local organization each year to ensure that I’m giving back to the place I love.
With partners Connie Walker and Jeannine Walker of Walker & Associates Consulting, we worked with the Giants Community Fund and Giants leadership to develop the organization’s first ever multi-year strategic plan. This process generated powerful innovation in their business model, governance structure, fundraising and programmatic vision. I later returned to support talent planning, professional development and coaching of senior leadership. Jeannine and I also returned to help refresh the strategic playbook when the first plan expired.
Why I love this team: In spite of the incredible obstacles created by Covid-19, this team thoughtfully and creatively expanded its ‘every kid plays’ motto deep in communities throughout Northern and Central California. They launched new programs like the Willie Mays Scholars and brought their evidence-based curriculum online to support even more kiddos and communities. Their team is among the most loyal I’ve ever met. They make me proud to say, “Go, Giants!”
“Whenever we need expert assistance, we think of Cathy Schreiber. Her first-hand experience as a nonprofit executive and her knowledge of industry trends are the anchors for her solid approach. Saying that, I appreciate that she readily acknowledges that each organization is different, so she blends time-tested best practices and customized solutions for our team.” – Sue Petersen, Executive Director
